Jonesy's NZ Trip

Big day trip today out to Milford Sound which was spectacular.

Is my last night here in Queenstown, before I head up for half a night a Christchurch for my early morning flight home.

Needless to say, am about to head upstairs and pack, then head straight for the pubs - AGAIN!

Have spent my time in Queenstown jumping off of things, falling down mountains (aka skiing), and drinking waaay too much.

Just did the canyon swing, which was so much fun I did it twice. The "Chair of Death" was awesome.

Have uploaded a couple of photos of my swing, will post more of Queenstown and Milford Sound after my trip out there tomorrow.

YYYEEAAAAHHHH!

After the pretty low points of the past couple of days (with the exception of the helicopter flight over the Franz Joseph Glacier), arrived in Queenstown last night.

Queenstown is such a cute little village, so should be fun to hang out here for the next few days.

About to head off on my Nevis Bungy - 134m jump with about 8 seconds of freefall. Not nervous yet, but will no doubt be when I get to the top. Will post some photos up tonight hopefully.

Have finally hit the South Island, and am now past the half way point of my trip.

Got the Ferry to the south island from Wellington to Nelson, where I climbed to the geographical centre of NZ. We then had free beer tasting in the pub where we were staying, so my plans to have a quiet night were put on the back burner pretty quickly. But after getting home about 3.30 this morning I am fairly certain tonight will be a quiet one.

Just spent the afternoon jetboating around the Buller River in Westport.

So not a very interesting update, but an update none the less.

Unfortunately our rafting trip got cancelled. It poured rain all night last night which caused the river to rise to a level that was too high to raft (for commercial purposes anyway, something to do with the risk of dying???). So with nothing else to do since we were only in River Valley to raft, we headed to Wellington.

We do not have much time here, as we head down to the south island by ferry tomorrow morning. Just had a quick look through the Te Paupa museum which was kind of cool, but other than that we are just heading out for dinner and a quiet night (I think).

Finally got some photos uploaded - virus free!!! Forgot to bring my CD down with the Zorbing photos so they are still to come, but other than that should be pretty much up to date. Not many photos in the past couple of days as there has not been much activity (outside a bar anyway).
